Ron is a trained architect and master planner with over 20 years of award winning professional experience in the construction industry.

To date, he has had a varied UK and international career, working both in the US and Japan before settling with his family in the UK in 1999.  In the last decade, he has specialised in the design of the residential environment, from complex one-off residences for private clients to the master planning of new communities. 

Ron considers the delivery of exciting, economic yet environmentally conscious housing to be the greatest challenge in the UK, and has set about creating USB with Simon Pugh to help facilitate it.

Simon has spent over 20 years in the development industry, previously working as an urban design/master planning consultant for a range of public and private sector clients. His design expertise ranges from small residential schemes to the master planning of large scale mixed use urban expansion projects and town and city frameworks.

His interest in housing design focuses on delivering quality architecture and energy efficiency whilst also being flexible and practical to suit a family’s needs. He feels there must be something missing from the UK house building industry when ordinary people cannot easily aspire to and create their own individual home, and this belief has led to the creation of USB Ltd with Ron Gibbons.

Simon has lived all his life in Milton Keynes and is passionate about the new city and its reputation for leading edge and innovative housing design - including self build - over the last 35 years.
